Timothy wor young brother in the congregation in Lystra. His pa wor Greek, and his ma wor Jewish woman. His ma name wor Eunice, and his grandma name wor Lois. And they use to teach Timothy about Jehovah from the time he wor small.
When Paul visit Lystra during his second missionary trip, he notice that Timothy really love the brother dem and he wor always ready to help them. Paul invite Timothy to join him on his journey. After some time, Paul train Timothy to be good preacher and teacher of the good news.
Holy spirit use to help Paul and Timothy anywhere they go. One night, in Paul vision, one man tell him to go to Macedonia and help the people that there. So Paul, Timothy, Silas, and Luke go there to preach and to form congregations.
In the Macedonian city of Thessalonica, plenty men and women dem became Christians. But some of the Jews wor jealous of Paul and his friend dem. They put angry people together and drag the brothers to the big-big people that wor ruling the city. And they start shouting: ‘This men dem that enemy to the Roman government!’ Paul and Timothy life wor in danger, so in the night they run away to Beroea.
The people in Beroea really wanted to learn the good news. And both the Greeks and Jews became believers. But when some of the Jews come from Thessalonica and they started causing trouble, Paul go to Athens. Timothy and Silas stay in Beroea to encourage the brother dem. After some time, Paul send Timothy back to Thessalonica to help the brother dem to deal with the serious persecution they wor going through.
Later on, Paul send Timothy to visit plenty other congregations and encourage the brother dem.Paul tell Timothy say: ‘All those who want serve Jehovah will be persecuted.’ They persecute Timothy and put him in jail for his faith. He wor happy for the opportunity to prove that he loyal to Jehovah.
Paul tell the Philippians: ‘I sending Timothy to yor. He will teach yor what it mean to walk in the truth. And he will train yor in the ministry.’ Paul knew that he can depend on Timothy. Because they wor friends, and they work together in preaching the good news for plenty years.
“I have no one else of a disposition like his who will genuinely care for your concerns. For all the others are seeking their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.”—Philippians 2:20, 21
