John 5:1-47
5 After this one, the Jew people come de do one festival, and Jesus go Jerusalem.
2 Now for the Sheep Gate wey dey Jerusalem, one pool dey there wey them de call Beth·zaʹtha for Hebrew language, and e get five veranda.
3 Plenty people wey de sick, wey blind, wey no fit waka, and people wey their hand or leg don die* be lie down for there.

5 But one man be dey there wey don de sick for 38 years.
6 As Jesus see this man wey lie down for there and as e know say e don tey wey the man de sick, e come ask-am say: “You want make your sickness go?”
7 The man wey de sick come answer-am say: “Oga, I no get anybody wey go carry me put for the pool when the water don de shake, but when I de try to go enter, another person go just first me enter.”
8 Jesus come tell-am say: “Stand up, carry your mat* and waka.”
9 At once, the man just well, e come carry im mat and start to waka.
That day na Sabbath day.
10 The Jew people come de tell the man wey Jesus cure im sickness say: “Today na Sabbath day, you no suppose to carry mat.”*
11 But the man answer them say: “Na the person wey cure my sickness still tell me say, ‘Carry your mat* and waka.’”
12 Them come ask-am say: “Who be the person wey tell you say, ‘Carry-am make you waka’?”
13 But the man wey Jesus heal no know who e be, because Jesus don enter among the plenty people wey dey there.
14 After this one, Jesus come see-am for temple and tell-am say: “See, you don well now. Make you no sin again, so that something wey bad pass that one no go happen to you.”
15 The man come comot go tell the Jew people say na Jesus cure im sickness.
16 Because of this one, the Jew people come de make trouble for Jesus, because say e de do this things for Sabbath day.
17 But e answer them say: “My Papa don de work come reach now, and me self still de work.”
18 Na this one make the Jew people come de try more-more to kill-am, because no be only Sabbath law e de break, but e still de talk say God na im own Papa, so e de make imself dey equal to God.
19 So Jesus answer them say: “True-true, I de tell una say, the Son no fit do anything from im own mind, but na only wetin e see the Papa de do. Because, anything wey the Papa de do na im the Son de do too, and na the same way e de do-am.
20 Because the Papa get strong love for the Son and e de show-am everything wey e de do, and e go show-am things* wey big pass this ones so that una go really surprise.
21 Because just as the Papa de bring people wey don die back to life, and make them dey alive, na so the Son de make anybody wey e want dey alive too.
22 Because the Papa no de judge anybody at all, instead, e don put everything wey concern to judge, for the Son hand,
23 so that everybody go honor the Son just as them de honor the Papa. Anybody wey no honor the Son no de honor the Papa wey send-am too.
24 True-true, I de tell una say, anybody wey hear wetin I talk and believe the Person wey send me, go get life wey no go end, and them no go judge that person at all, instead, e don comot from death enter life.
25 “True-true, I de tell una say, time de come, and na now, when people wey don die go hear the voice of the Son of God, and people wey listen go dey alive.
26 Because just as the Papa get life inside imself,* na so e don still make the Son get life inside imself.
27 And e don give-am authority to judge because na Son of man e be.
28 Make this one no surprise una, because the time de come when all the people wey dey inside grave* go hear im voice
29 and come out. People wey don do good things, go resurrect get life, but people wey don do bad things, go resurrect to face judgment.
30 I no fit do anything from my own mind, na just as the Papa tell me I de take judge, and the way I de judge correct for im eye, because I no de do wetin I want, but na wetin the Person wey send me want.
31 “If na only me de talk about myself, then wetin I de talk no be true.
32 E get another person wey de talk about me, and I know say wetin e de talk about me na true.
33 Una don send people go meet John and e don tell una the truth.
34 But, no be say I need person to talk about me, but I de talk this things so that them go fit save una.
35 That man be dey like lamp wey im light de shine and dey bright, and for short time, una ready to happy well-well because of im light.
36 But I get proof wey pass wetin John talk, because na exactly the work them wey my Papa give me, wey I de do so, de prove say na my Papa send me.
37 And the Papa wey send me don by imself talk about me. Una never hear im voice anytime or see how e be,
38 and im word no dey inside una, because una no believe the person wey e send.
39 “Una de check the things wey dey inside the Word of God, because una think say na them go make una get life wey no go end, and na this same things de talk about me.
40 And still, una no want come meet me so that una go get life.
41 I no de accept praise from people,
42 but I really know say una no love God for una heart.
43 I come with my Papa name, but una no welcome me. If another person come with im own name, una go welcome-am.
44 How una go fit believe, when una de accept praise from each other but una no de try to get the praise wey come from the only God?
45 Make una no think say I go tell my Papa say una don do bad, e get person wey de talk say una do bad, na Moses, wey una don put una hope.
46 The truth be say, if to say una believe Moses, una for believe me, because e write about me.
47 But if una no believe the things wey e write, how una go believe wetin I de talk?”
