James 1:1-27
1 Me James, slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, de write to the 12 tribes wey scatter for different-different place:
I greet una!
2 My dear brothers and sisters, make una de really happy* when una de face different-different problem,
3 and make una know say na when una don face this problems, e go show say una faith strong and e go make una to fit endure.
4 But make una allow endurance finish im work so that una go dey complete and do well for everything. Una no go lack anything.
5 So if any of una need sense, make e continue to beg God, because God get open hand and e de give everybody. E no de disgrace person,* e go give the person wetin e beg for.
6 But make the person continue to get faith as e de beg, make e no get two mind at all, because person wey get two mind be like water for sea wey breeze de blow up and down.
7 True-true, make that person no think say e go get anything from Jehovah;
8 e be person wey no de ever make up im mind, e de always change im mind for everything wey e de do.
9 But make the poor* brother happy* say God don raise-am up.
10 And make the person wey dey rich de happy say them don bring-am down, because just like flower, e go die too.
11 Because just as sun wey hot well-well de make plant die, and the flower go fall comot, and e no go fine again, na so the rich man no go dey again too as e de put hand for different-different things.
12 Person wey continue to endure problem go happy, because when God don gree say e do well, e go give-am the crown of life. Na wetin Jehovah don promise people wey continue to love-am be that.
13 When anybody de face problem, make e no talk say: “Na God de test me.” Because person no fit use bad things test God, and God too no de test anybody.
14 But each person de face test when the thing wey e want, don de tempt-am and de hungry-am.*
15 Then, when e don too put mind for that thing wey e want, e go make-am sin* and when e don sin, the result na death.
16 My dear brothers and sisters, make nothing deceive una.
17 Every good gift, and every gift wey complete de come from heaven. E de come from the Papa wey make the lights wey de shine from heaven, from the Papa wey no de change or de shift like shadow.*
18 E use the word of truth bring us to life because na wetin e want, so that we go be the first ones wey e don choose from the things wey e make.
19 My dear brothers and sisters, make una know say: Everybody must be person wey ready to listen, wey no de quick talk, and wey no de quick vex,
20 because when person de vex, e no fit do wetin correct for God eye.
21 So make una leave all character wey rotten and any bad thing wey una still de do,* make una de carry body down and allow God to plant im word wey fit save una* for una heart.
22 Make una be people wey de do wetin the word of God talk, no be just people wey de hear-am and de deceive unaself with thinking wey no correct.
23 Because if anybody just de hear the word and no de do wetin e hear, e just be like person wey de look im face for mirror.
24 But as e look imself and waka comot, e just forget the kind person wey e be.
25 But person wey de take im time check wetin dey the complete law of God wey de make person dey free, and continue to obey the law, no be person wey de hear and de forget. But na person wey de do God work; and e go happy for wetin e de do.
26 If anybody de think say e de worship God, but e no de control im tongue, e de deceive imself* and e de serve God for nothing.
27 The kind worship* wey clean and pure for the eyes of our God and Papa na to care for children wey no get papa and mama, and widows wey de face problem, and to make sure say person no get stain from this world.
