Selected before his birth to be a prophet. (Jeremiah 1:1-5) Jeremiah served God faithfully for over 65 years. Though Jeremiah felt inexperienced and afraid to speak, Jehovah told him: “Do not be afraid . . . , for ‘I am with you to deliver you.’”​—Jeremiah 1:6-8.
