Matthew 28:1-20

28  Ὀψὲ Afterδὲ butσαββάτων, of sabbaths,τῇ to the [day]ἐπιφωσκούσῃ lighting upεἰς intoμίαν oneσαββάτων, of sabbaths,ἦλθεν cameΜαρία Maryἡ theΜαγδαληνὴ Magdaleneκαὶ andἡ theἄλλη otherΜαρία Maryθεωρῆσαι to viewτὸν theτάφον. grave. 2  καὶ Andἰδοὺ look!σεισμὸς [earth] quakeἐγένετο occurredμέγας· great;ἄγγελος angelγὰρ forΚυρίου of Lordκαταβὰς having descendedἐξ out ofοὐρανοῦ heavenκαὶ andπροσελθὼν having come towardἀπεκύλισε he rolled awayτὸν theλίθον stoneκαὶ andἐκάθητο was sittingἐπάνω on top ofαὐτοῦ. it. 3  ἦν Wasδὲ butἡ theεἰδέα outward appearanceαὐτοῦ of himὡς asἀστραπὴ lightningκαὶ andτὸ theἔνδυμα clothingαὐτοῦ of himλευκὸν whiteὡς asχιών. snow. 4  ἀπὸ Fromδὲ butτοῦ theφόβου fearαὐτοῦ of himἐσείσθησαν were made to quakeοἱ the (ones)τηροῦντες observingκαὶ andἐγενήθησαν becameὡς asνεκροί. dead (ones). 5  ἀποκριθεὶς Having answeredδὲ butὁ theἄγγελος angelεἶπεν saidταῖς to theγυναιξίν womenΜὴ Notφοβεῖσθε be fearfulὑμεῖς, YOU,οἶδα I have knownγὰρ forὅτι thatἸησοῦν Jesusτὸν the (one)ἐσταυρωμένον having been put on the stakeζητεῖτε· YOU are seeking; 6  οὐκ notἔστιν he isὧδε, here,ἠγέρθη he was raised upγὰρ forκαθὼς according asεἶπεν· he said;δεῦτε hitherἴδετε see YOUτὸν theτόπον placeὅπου whereἔκειτο· he was lying; 7  καὶ andταχὺ quicklyπορευθεῖσαι having gone your wayεἴπατε say YOUτοῖς to theμαθηταῖς disciplesαὐτοῦ of himὅτι thatἨγέρθη He was raised upἀπὸ fromτῶν theνεκρῶν, dead (ones),καὶ andἰδοὺ look!προάγει he goes beforeὑμᾶς YOUεἰς intoτὴν theΓαλιλαίαν, Galilee,ἐκεῖ thereαὐτὸν himὄψεσθε· YOU will see;ἰδοὺ look!εἶπον I saidὑμῖν. to YOU. 8  καὶ Andἀπελθοῦσαι having gone offταχὺ quicklyἀπὸ fromτοῦ theμνημείου memorial tombμετὰ withφόβου fearκαὶ andχαρᾶς joyμεγάλης greatἔδραμον they ranἀπαγγεῖλαι to report backτοῖς to theμαθηταῖς disciplesαὐτοῦ. of him. 9  καὶ Andἰδοὺ look!Ἰησοῦς Jesusὑπήντησεν metαὐταῖς themλέγων sayingΧαίρετε· Be you rejoicing;αἱ the (ones)δὲ butπροσελθοῦσαι having come towardἐκράτησαν seizedαὐτοῦ of himτοὺς theπόδας feetκαὶ andπροσεκύνησαν did obeisanceαὐτῷ. to him. 10  τότε Thenλέγει is sayingαὐταῖς to themὁ theἸησοῦς JesusΜὴ Notφοβεῖσθε· be fearful;ὑπάγετε be you going underἀπαγγείλατε report backτοῖς to theἀδελφοῖς brothersμου of meἵνα in order thatἀπέλθωσιν they might go offεἰς intoτὴν theΓαλιλαίαν, Galilee,κἀκεῖ and thereμε meὄψονται. they will see. 11  Πορευομένων Going their wayδὲ butαὐτῶν of themἰδού look!τινες someτῆς of theκουστωδίας custody menἐλθόντες having comeεἰς intoτὴν theπόλιν cityἀπήγγειλαν reported backτοῖς to theἀρχιερεῦσιν chief priestsἅπαντα allτὰ the (things)γενόμενα. having happened. 12  καὶ Andσυναχθέντες having been led togetherμετὰ withτῶν theπρεσβυτέρων older menσυμβούλιόν counsel togetherτε andλαβόντες having takenἀργύρια silver [pieces]ἱκανὰ sufficientἔδωκαν they gaveτοῖς to theστρατιώταις soldiers 13  λέγοντες sayingΕἴπατε Sayὅτι thatΟἱ Theμαθηταὶ disciplesαὐτοῦ of himνυκτὸς of nightἐλθόντες having comeἔκλεψαν stoleαὐτὸν himἡμῶν of usκοιμωμένων· sleeping; 14  καὶ andἐὰν if everἀκουσθῇ should be heardτοῦτο this (thing)ἐπὶ uponτοῦ theἡγεμόνος, governor,ἡμεῖς weπείσομεν shall persuadeκαὶ andὑμᾶς YOUἀμερίμνους free from worryποιήσομεν. we shall make. 15  οἱ The (ones)δὲ butλαβόντες having takenἀργύρια silver [pieces]ἐποίησαν didὡς asἐδιδάχθησαν. they were taught.Καὶ Andδιεφημίσθη was spread abroadὁ theλόγος wordοὗτος thisπαρὰ besideἸουδαίοις Jewsμέχρι untilτῆς theσήμερον todayἡμέρας. day. 16  Οἱ Theδὲ butἕνδεκα elevenμαθηταὶ disciplesἐπορεύθησαν went their wayεἰς intoτὴν theΓαλιλαίαν Galileeεἰς intoτὸ theὄρος mountainοὗ whereἐτάξατο arrangedαὐτοῖς to themὁ theἸησοῦς, Jesus 17  καὶ andἰδόντες having seenαὐτόν himπροσεκύνησαν, they did obeisance,οἱ the (ones)δὲ butἐδίστασαν. doubted. 18  καὶ Andπροσελθὼν having come towardὁ theἸησοῦς Jesusἐλάλησεν spokeαὐτοῖς to themλέγων saying᾿Εδόθη Was givenμοι to meπᾶσα allἐξουσία authorityἐν inοὐρανῷ heavenκαὶ andἐπὶ uponτῆς theγῆς· earth; 19  πορευθέντες having gone your wayοὖν thereforeμαθητεύσατε make disciples ofπάντα allτὰ theἔθνη, nations,βαπτίζοντες baptizingαὐτοὺς them [persons]εἰς intoτὸ theὄνομα nameτοῦ of theπατρὸς Fatherκαὶ andτοῦ of theυἱοῦ Sonκαὶ andτοῦ of theἁγίου holyπνεύματος, spirit, 20  διδάσκοντες teachingαὐτοὺς themτηρεῖν to be observingπάντα allὅσα as many things asἐνετειλάμην I commandedὑμῖν· to YOU;καὶ andἰδοὺ look!ἐγὼ Iμεθ’ withὑμῶν YOUεἰμὶ amπάσας allτὰς theἡμέρας daysἕως tillτῆς theσυντελείας conclusionτοῦ of theαἰῶνος. age.
